Workshop Class Photos
Below are some photos of recent
workshops.
These may load slow so please be patient.
This view shows the class set up before everyone
gets there. You can also see the two large screens that display
what is taking place on my drawing board. Students are also welcome to
come look over my shoulder during the demonstrations.
This
view is towards the back of the class where I have my artwork set up for
students to look over and ask questions. Everyone has
their own drawing lamp, supply cup, and 3 feet of working space.

This view shows the room with the overhead lights off.

Class has started. Here, I'm explaining some
different blending techniques. I can get the camera on my drawing
board so close that you can even see the tooth of the paper.

Here you can see how close students are to the screens.
There's not a bad seat in the house!

Demonstrating techniques for rendering realistic eyes.

After demonstrating a technique, I walk around the
class to give each student some personal attention and some help with
achieving the desired look we are working on.

Occasionally, we come back to the art display so I
can show specific examples of where I have used the techniques that
the students have just learned. Everyone is encouraged to ask
questions at anytime.

The first two days of class were spent learning my
techniques for drawing the features of the face. The last day of class
we put it all together and work on a
portrait. Most students choose to work on areas that they would still
like my help with and don't complete the portrait until
they get home so they can work at their own pace. Here, our
class photo shows the final project in various stages of completion.

Below are some photos take in my March 20,2010
BYOP (Bring Your Own Portrait) workshop.

As you can see, we all have a great time. I hope you will join
us!
