“Night  Watch”

This cat always had the most curious expression when it would watch people go by from its favorite perch.  The subject matter also gave me a chance to exploit the extreme contrasts between the soft fur and the brick building.  I made it a night scene to accentuate the white cat against the dark background. Charcoal was used for the background and graphite pencil for the cat and bricks.  A step-by-step demonstration of this drawing is included in my new book "Drawing Realistic Textures in Pencil" published by North Light Books.
